Baking cookies with the family is a long-cherished tradition, especially when the weather turns cold. Try making April's Shortbread Cookies: -2 Cups of flour -1 Cup butter -1/2 Cup powdered sugar -1 egg yolk -2 Tsp of almond extract   Soften butter slightly; stir in sugar, flour, almond extract, and egg yolk; Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly until the dough begins to crack, 8-10 min. Roll out 1/4-inch thick and cut into shapes; place on an ungreased cookie sheet; Bake at 350°F until delicately browned, ~10 minutes.
